Mandatory from 18 Feb 2027 · EU Regulation 2023/1542, Art. 77

# Your battery passport.
Done for you.

From February 2027, e-bike, e-scooter, industrial and EV batteries can't be sold in the EU without a digital passport. We work out what you need, tell you exactly what to ask your supplier for, and publish your passports with QR codes. You don't have to learn any software.

**18 Feb 2027** No passport, no sale. Covered batteries can't be placed on the EU market without one.

**One per battery** Every unit gets its own record and QR code, not one PDF per product line.

**Dozens of data points** Most of them sit with your cell and pack suppliers, not in your own systems.

30-SECOND CHECK

## Do you need a battery passport?

The duty sits with whoever places the finished battery on the EU market: the manufacturer, or the importer when it's made outside the EU. Answer two questions.

Not covered: phones, laptops, power tools and other small portable batteries. Batteries already in use don't need one.

HOW IT WORKS

## Four steps. Most of the work is ours.

01 · Week 1

### Check

A free 15-minute call. We confirm which of your batteries are covered, which category each falls in, and whether the duty is yours or your supplier's.

02 · Weeks 1–4

### Collect

We give you a ready data request for your supplier, in English and Chinese. You send it and forward us the reply; we check every field and tell you exactly what is still missing.

03 · Before the deadline

### Publish

You review and approve. We publish a passport and QR code for every battery, prepare the EU registry upload and walk you through submitting it. [See a sample passport →](https://packpass.forgedigital.eu/sample-passport/)

04 · Ongoing

### Maintain

New shipment, new model, changed supplier: we keep passports accurate and up to date, as the regulation requires.

PRICING

## Clear prices. No "contact sales".

One setup fee to get you compliant, then a small monthly fee to keep passports live and accurate. Prices exclude VAT. Founding clients: the first 10 companies pay no monthly fee for their first 3 months.

**The full service, at software prices.** Most battery passport providers only give prices on request. Self-service tools cost about the same per month as we do, but with them your team does all the work.

FAQ

## Plain answers.

### When does this become mandatory?

From 18 February 2027 for EV batteries, light means of transport batteries (e-bikes, e-scooters, e-mopeds) and industrial batteries above 2 kWh placed on the EU market.

### Do batteries already sold or in use need a passport?

No. It applies to batteries placed on the market from that date. A battery that is remanufactured or repurposed and placed on the market again does need one.

### Who is legally responsible, you or us?

You stay the responsible economic operator. With your written authorisation we act on your behalf: we prepare, host and maintain the passports and keep the data current.

### Do you register the passports in the EU registry?

The rules require your company to submit each battery to the EU registry itself, after verifying with a qualified electronic seal. We prepare the upload, help you get the seal and walk you through every step.

### What data goes into a passport?

Battery identity and manufacturer, chemistry and materials, capacity and performance, durability, and end-of-life information, split into public data and data only authorities or repairers can see. Some parts, like due diligence, arrive later.

### What if the deadline moves?

Some simplification proposals are still being discussed in the EU. We track them and tell you as soon as anything changes. Your data work isn't wasted either way.
